ola!
yesterday, me, mom and lil’ sis went to kl. my main objective was to visit the career fair at midval and spend the weekend with my family. but the mall was jammed-packed with people!!!… we ended up exhausted and tired by the end of the day..
taken form Nana’s blog:
This Saturday was damn-gerous. Want to hear the whole story?
I woke up at 10.30 am, wondering whether I woke up too late, since I promised to assist my older sister to accompany her to a career fair. Turned out she was still in her bed. Whoo, lucky me….
I wished I didn’t say that later.
We went there by commuter, from Seremban. The ride was pretty smooth, a good start. I was a bit excited as I haven’t been to Midvalley for a long time ( read: LAST YEAR). Okay, not so long, just four months ago.
We arrived at around 2.00 pm. Hungry. DAMN hungry. In fact, I had to note here, we haven’t eaten our breakfast, and I don’t eat dinner last night either. Unfortunately, we were going in circles just to find a decent place with decent food. When we find a nice place, the food were questionable. When we find a location with nice food, no place to sit.
So, Liza went to the interview, empty stomached. Well, with her depressed face, maybe it will create an illusion she is smaller and despaired then she looks. I heard guys were more helpless with helpless looking women.
Not a chance.
She finished her interview and browsing at the Career Fair around 3.00 pm. I’ve had my fill at Sweetchat. It was a saving grace. We went to the Food Junction: No Place. We went to the Oasis: Coming Soon. We went to Burger King: Questionable, and Mom wants to eat rice. So finally, we went to Sweetchat. I got a set of…I don’t remember what did they called the noodle’s name, something fancy, with Prosperi-Tea ( taste like iced tea, again some fancy name). Oh, I got a free calendar with promotion coupons. Freebies are always welcomed!

Here I would like to complain; Why, oh why do you feel the need to write description about food like making poetry? I don’t really need to know whether my food will emit ‘zen’ out of me or bring out the ’spiritual being of my power’ or ‘excites my soul’. You guys really make me feel as if I’m condoning an exorcism rather than eating. Here’s a tip:
EATING IS pleasant. EXORCISM isn’t.
Since we don’t go out much, Kak Liza decided to bring us to The Gardens, the neighbor of Midvalley. The Gardens…wow, less people ( never been much of a crowd-person, I am), and we finally get to eat at a food court there. There’s a BORDER bookstore next to it.

I was embarrassed when I was notified by a staff there that I was not allowed to take pictures around, unless on the event at the center. So, sorry friends, no pictures of The Gardens for you. But it was very nice, clean, and classy. It is for rich people.
Which remind me, I’m not rich. Gah….
And now, the HORROR.
We wanted to go back, but Midvalley was crowd as…you guess which curse word I want to use. What place that is beyond your imagination would be torturous and crowded at the same time? Yes, you guess it….No, SCHOOL is close, but not right.

Note to self: Buy a Touch N Go. You’ll never know when you might need it. As in KTM Midvalley for instance.
At first, we planned on watching a movie ( Yes Man in our thoughts) until the crowd steer clear. Bad move. The cinema counter’s line-up is competing with the KTM ticket booth. And so, again, to the Gardens. We hangout there until around 6.00 pm.
Huh! Shocking! You know, we went to Medan Selera near Big Apple at the LG floor of Midvalley. It never crossed our minds that the brightly lit food court in front of it is actually a connector of the Gardens to Midvalley. We only found out when we were searching for Belanga. Reminder: Next time eating out in Midvalley, find Belanga.
Also, there’s a cinema at The Gardens too, but let’s not go to the price part….heheh….
Finally, plan C:
- Too a cab ( slight change; we took the rapidKL instead. How would I survive in KL? They sure love pushing and shoving as a hobby. It made my hometown a godsend. So much for being ‘more technology-wise, more civilized’. Yes, stress is a killer…)
Woohoo! My first RapidKL ticket! Oh God, I’m a loser…
- Go to University LRT Station
- Bought tickets for three to KL Central
- Bought Touch N Go, use it to go to Rawang
- Stopped at Putra Station
- Bought tickets to Seremban ( Can’t use Touch N Go, we had no money in it. BUT, I still have complaints about it. Later)
- Arrived at Seremban.
- SLEEP.
Now, where do I start? Oh yes, Touch N Go card…
HOW THE HE-….ehem, sorry…How did a RM20 card became a RM25? And we only have RM9.50 in it?

(click on the thumbnails to see more clearly of the blasphemy!)
Look, I can understand if it’s RM20: RM10 for the card, another RM10 for the balance. But what’s with another RM5? I GET RM5 for 5 DAYS allowance, and they RIPPED OFF from me in less than 5 MINUTES!
Forget Jack The Ripper, there’s a new Ripper in town! Yeah, I have problems with giving money away like a breeze of oxygen. Damn it, I’m suffocating here!
Liza,Liza…she bought tickets to Seremban, but went out using Touch N Go…money go to the waste basket…Okay, let’s see from an optimistic point of view… Thank you Liza, you helped fill a government worker’s family bowl, you helped giving the ktm workers extra money, so they can give their teenage son to fill the illegal-driven bike and to top up their ever-nonexistent credit. You’ve saved the world!

Dejected…
So yeah, right back to the point. When we were on the train going to Seremban, it stopped at Midvalley for a while. So many people is still there! Guess I don’t regret taking the longer way. At least I’m among those sitting in the train, not standing beside it. The previous line reminds me of something:
Liza: (calling Nana) Nana, computer tetiba standby. Nak buat apa?
Nana: Standby ya? Kalau macam tu, Stand Beside la.
Liza: ^&$#%$*U&^$%
Ah, the good ol‘ days….
So the moral of the story:
Sometimes Shortcuts can be Longer…
P/S: I saw this cool designed Coca Cola Bottle at Midvalley ( yeah, yeah, you might have see it tons of time, but I’m not a city girl, so this kind of things excites me!)
